North Coast Flight School won the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania "Education Award" for excellence in Aviation Education for FOUR years in a row. Our unique approach to exposing kids as young as 10 years old to flying and aviation careers set the aviation industry's tongues wagging. No one had ever thought of it. What was originally a group of twelve kids running around an airport having the time of their lives has now grown into a national program.
North Coast Flight school is now in the process of revitalizing the Aero Academy Program. Look for more new and fun ways to expose your children to the wonderful world of flight. Classes will be forming in early 2024. Watch for our latest addition to our Aero “Family”… FLYING ACES ADULT ACADEMY
Young Flyers (age 10-11)
This camp is designed specifically for students ages 10 to 11 years of age, with no prior experience with aviation. There are many fun and engaging activities . Young Flyers Academy will expose kids to the exciting and interesting field of aviation.

Students will engage in hands-on activities, assist in a pre-flight inspection, receive exposure to drones including care and maintenance and take a brief flight around the Meadville/Conneaut Lake area.
Camp 1 (Age 12)
This Camp is designed for students with NO prior knowledge or experience in aviation. Students will be introduced to important piloting skills and information. They will be introduced to hands on activities to demonstrate the four forces of flight. Campers will be given a brief flight over the Meadville/Conneaut Lake area and may take the controls.

Camp 2 (age 13)
AND THE FUN CONTINUES… While continuing to prepare the individuals to become a pilot, Camp Two now exposes them to more in depth skills that they will use to fly a plane and students will demonstrate their knowledge by building and launching their own rocket!

Camp 3 (age 14)
WOW! This level is designed for the student that exhibits a great interest in flying. The students will plan a Two-or Three- Legged and execute it with each student flying one segment of the adventure. Each Student will receive a log book with and entry recording their time at the controls.

Camp 4 (age 15)
This is the Camp when you really start flying!!!
Camp 4 is designed for the young pilot that is ready to make a commitment to obtain their Private Pilot’s License. The students will receive 5 (five) hours of actual flight time at a convenient time for the student and a weekly class. While flying, students will be using complex knowledge and skills necessary for successful pilots.
Additional 5-hour blocks will be available for purchase during the session.

Camp 5 (age 16)
This is a full VFR Ground School. It is designed for the student who is or soon will be actively flying and working towards achieving their Private Pilot’s License. Students will receive books and necessary materials for the completion of the class. Suring the 8-week session, students will have access to Gleim Practice exams to prepare for their Private Pilot Written Exam. The class meets for 2 hours twice a week for 8 weeks.
